McCubbin works directly with owners and golf course superintendents to ensure each project is a success with minimal disruption of play. We build greens utilizing USGA specifications to ensure agronomic success and playability. Throughout Iowa and Illinois McCubbin Construction Corp. has been involved in all aspects of golf course and athletic field construction. In addition, we specialize in full-site development, concrete paving, and have ground more than 800,000 cubic yards of organic material since purchasing our tub grinder in 2005. Mike McCubbin - President and Chief Project Organizer
Mike McCubbin has been in the construction industry since 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy's Construction Battalion and was a Partner and Project Supervisor for a Davenport, IA excavating contractor. He now owns and operates his own Davenport contracting business, incorporated in 1992 to form McCubbin Construction Corp. With more than 30 years of construction experience on all sizes and types of projects, Mike possesses a vast construction knowledge, creative ingenuity, and reputation for quality workmanship.
Jay Roth - Field Superintendent / Project Estimator
Jay Roth has worked in the golf course and construction industry since 1981. His background includes the positions of Construction Supervisor and Greens Superintendent at a Coralville, IA golf course; Golf Course Superintendent in Washington, IA; Surveyor for a large Iowa excavation contractor; and a Construction Supervisor and Farm Manager at PA Farms in Trenton, New Jersey. He completed the turf programs at Kirkwood and Indian Hills Community Colleges and the Architectural Drafting Program at Kirkwood Community College. Jay has inestimable experience in golf course construction, maintenance, and design. He brings to the McCubbin team a contagious enthusiasm for all things golf.
