At Palmer Hills, McCubbin sloped back the Stafford Creek banks to handle runoff water and provided erosion control with gabion blankets along curves and under four existing bridges and one new bridge. McCubbin slightly straightened an existing creek and turned it into the Duck Creek at a different location from the then existing creek route. McCubbin also created a 90 degree creek crossing at the #6 fairway, rerouted Stafford Creek so it no longer crossed the #3 fairway and filled in the old creek channel.
